For partners and family

Partners, fathers, co-parents and grandparents are part of the first year too.

Rodney sees partners and family members for fifty-minute sessions, in English, in the office or by video. You can come on your own, to talk about sleep, work, worry or feeling shut out, or together with the person who gave birth. When a family needs Spanish in the room, Aurora or Johana can join.

  • For partners of any gender

  • Alone or together

  • In English, with Spanish when you need it

  • In the office or by video

How it works

  • The method

Talk therapy, with family and interpersonal approaches. Rodney holds the PMH-C, a perinatal mental health certification from Postpartum Support International.

  • What this is not

It is not a place to decide who is right, and it is not an emergency service. In a session for two, everyone hears everything that is said.

  • How long and how often

Fifty minutes, usually every week or two to start. Rodney sets the pace with you, and there is no set number of sessions.

  • How it is paid

You pay for each session yourself, and we give you a receipt for your plan. The fee is given to you in writing before you start.

Questions about this service

Do I have to be the baby's father?

No. Partners of any gender, co-parents, and grandparents or other family who help at home are all welcome.

Can we come together?

Yes. A session for two is the same fifty minutes, with both of you in the room or on the call.

What I say, does it stay between us?

In a one-to-one session, what you say stays between you and Rodney, within the limits we explain in the first session.

Would you like to talk with Rodney?

Write to us and we will find a time that suits you both.
